flydubai suspends all flights to Israel
The suspension also affects Emirates codeshare passengers traveling to Tel Aviv.
flydubai has temporarily stopped flights to and from Israel following an incident aboard a Dubai–Tel Aviv service on September 30. The airline said it coordinated the decision with the relevant authorities and will review it as investigators establish what happened.
The disruption has also affected Emirates bookings. Emirates has suspended its codeshare services with flydubai on the Tel Aviv route until further notice. Passengers booked with Emirates whose final destination is Tel Aviv will not be accepted for departure at their original airport.
The investigation concerns flight FZ 1073, which departed Dubai International Airport for Ben Gurion International Airport before diverting to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. flydubai confirmed that the aircraft landed safely and that all passengers were accounted for.
The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority said some crew members sustained injuries and were taken to hospital in Saudi Arabia for treatment. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, including operational and security matters. The authority has urged the public to avoid spreading unverified claims or concluding before the investigation produces its findings.
flydubai apologized for the disruption and said it was helping affected customers, including arranging alternatives where possible. The carrier also pledged to support investigators and continue coordinating with regulators, government authorities and airport partners.
A date for flights to resume has not been announced. Travelers with upcoming bookings should check with their airline or booking agent for the latest information before heading to the airport. Emirates’ codeshare suspension remains in effect until further notice.
